Andrews to present history of 140 years of skiing in Maine
BETHEL - Scott Andrews, writer and researcher with the Ski Museum of Maine, will be the featured speaker at the final lecture of the 2008 series at the Bethel Historical Society's Dr. Moses Mason House Exhibit Hall on Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. His topic will be "Down-Mountain and Cross Country: 140 Years of Skiing in Maine." Sponsored in part by a grant from the Maine Humanities Council, the lecture is free and open to all interested persons.

Sign up for youth wrestling
SOUTH PARIS - Oxford Hills Youth Wrestling Program is having sign ups for the 2008-2009 season on Sunday, November 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. and again on Thursday, November 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the wrestling room of the high school. Please come sign up your children from Pre-K to sixth grade who are interested.

Hebron Academy skating rink opens Sunday
HEBRON - The Hebron Academy skating rink will be open for public skating on Sundays from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., from November 16 through March 8. The cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children age 12 and under. Parking is available in the athletic center lot off Rte. 119. For more information, call 966-2100 or visit .

Norway readies for ice skating season
NORWAY - Norway Parks & Recreation Director Debra Partridge would like to thank New Balance Community Connection volunteers Elijah Barker and Mathew Martin for their help sharpening ice skates in preparation for the ice skating season on Cottage Street. The ice hut has 100 ice skates to loan to people of all ages to use at the Town ice rink.
